The Wigan Music Collective is a well-respected voluntary initiative formed in 1998 with the aim of creating and furthering a healthy live music scene in the area.

Since September 2000, the Collective has organised a live showcase of local groups every Saturday evening at the Tavern (Mesnes Street, Wigan), attracting critically acclaimed international acts as well as a weekly crowd reaching over 200 people.

In September 2007 due to circumstances out of our hands, we had to leave The Tavern, and were kindly given a new home at The Tudor House. Our gigs are now every Friday, with one off gigs and special events at other venues around town.

In addition, for eight years the Collective has organised the regions biggest live music event and social calendar highlight, the Haigh Hall Festival, a music festival with home-grown talent and a crowd estimated by local press to top 5,000 people.
